The Family Life Department

Mission Statement

The Family Life Department of Family Service of Eastern Nova Scotia is committed to providing service for families who wish to enrich the quality of their relationships. Agency social workers and educators, attached to the Family Life Department, reach out to families in Eastern Nova Scotia offering a variety of programs that are affirmative, developmental and preventative and are adapted to the needs of particular groups and family styles. Family Life Education Programs are an integral component of family living. Enriching relationships, enhancing a positive self-image and unfolding the sporitual strengths of family is the joy and challenge of the Family Life Department of Family Service of Eastern Nova Scotia.

The ultimate goal of the Family Life Department is to improve the quality of individual and family life and is a way for Family Service of Eastern Nova Scotia to respond creatively in the area of enrichment and prevention.

The Family Life Department also offers a Resource Centre. A variety of audio-visual materials (video tapes, films, audio cassettes, slides) covering a multi-subject index of personal interests are made available to individuals and groups.
